My Brother Knights,
On Sunday May 6th Sunrise Council and the Sixth District will be hosting the Suffolk County Special Olympics Spring Games at Connetquot High School on 7th Street in Bohemia. Our council will be participating in the opening ceremonies, marching with our council’s banner. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact me and/or sign up online at www.sunriseknights.com click on “Spec. Olympic Registration” tab in the left margin. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so you can join in the opening ceremonies.
The Memorial Mass for Deceased Members will be on May 15 at 7:30 pm in the Daily Mass Chapel. Please try to attend, to remember our deceased brothers.
On May 19th and 20th our council will be collecting blessed statues, and other blessed items after each mass for burial on church grounds. After the conclusion of Sunday’s 5 pm mass collection, Father Michael will be performing a short prayer service at the burial site. If you can volunteer to help with the collection, please contact me. All are welcome to bring blessed items for collection and/or attend the prayer service.
On June 10th we will be holding a parish breakfast. All proceeds will be used to purchase Ceremonial robes for alter service and new collection baskets. I will provide more details in next month’s message. If you can volunteer to help set up, cook, and/or clean up please contact me. All are welcome to attend.
It’s not too late to consider running for an officer’s position. Please contact John Leonardo PGK FDD chairman of the nomination committee (737-5531). It is essential for the life of our council to have our members participate in its leadership.
