June Grand Knight’s Message
My Brother Knights,
Please join our council on Memorial Day, May 28 at 10:00 am in the Holbrook Plaza Mall across the street from Home Run Burger to participate in the parade. If you can’t march please come out and enjoy the parade. If you are planning to march in the parade with our council please wear your K of C shirt and/or jacket if possible.
On June 10th we will be sponsoring a parish breakfast, beginning after the 7:00 am mass to continue until noon. All profits from this social gathering will be used to purchase ceremonial robes for alter service and new collection baskets. The cost is $7 per adult, $4 children under 12 and free for children under 3. If you can volunteer to help set up, cook, and/or clean up please contact me. All are welcome to attend this social gathering.
I am organizing brother knights from our council to adopt the fourth Sunday of each month to assist our brother knights and other Catholic Vets in the Donald J. Burns Council at LI Vets Home to attend Sunday service. You would not be committing to every 4th Sunday, just the Sundays you are available to volunteer. We would need to arrive 9:45 -10am, we would assist in transporting those who wish to go to mass. Mass is approximately 10:45 -11:15am. We would then assist in transporting brothers back to their respective units, which should be completed by 11:45am. Your family members and friends are also welcomed to volunteer for this much needed and appreciated service for our brother knights. Please contact me to volunteer or if you need additional information.
We are trying to organize a social event for a LI Ducks baseball game for our members and their families and friends. We would order group sale tickets at $ 10 each. The game that was selected is a promotional day, free logo baseball caps. The date is Friday July 20; 7:05pm start time. The backup date is also a promotional day, free logo T-shirts on Friday August 15; 7:05pm start time if the first date is unavailable. If you are interested in attending, please contact me with your information including number of tickets needed, no later than Friday June 8th. I will be inquiring about the ticket sales that Monday. After I secure tickets I will contact you to arrange payment for your ticket order. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Try to attend our monthly general meeting on Tuesday June 12 at 8:00 pm; we will be presenting a thank you and farewell gift to Father Michael, who is leaving the parish in late June.
