September Grand Knight’s Message

My Brother Knights,

The Installation ceremony for our Officers is scheduled for September 9 in the Fellowship Hall from 1:00 – 4:00pm. A luncheon will be served after the Installation ceremony. All brother knights, their families, and friends are welcome to attend.

The social event for the Captree Pride had to be rescheduled due to a conflict.  The rescheduled date is Saturday September 15. We have arranged the fishing trip out of Captree Boat Basin. The boat is the Captree Pride; it is an 80 foot open public fishing boat. It departs at 7am and returns at 12:30pm (5 ½ hours). The cost per person is $42 for adults and $25 for  children under 15. We will be paying on the boat, no prepayment is required.

Your family and friends are welcome to attend. If you are interested please contact me or Fred Flad as soon as possible, we need to know how many are planning to attend, so we can let the boat know how many of us to expect and set up for.

Our council is seeking to use (rent) a garage to store the donations for our annual Chinese auction. The council would need the space from approximately mid/end of January to March when we hold the auction. A date for March 2013 has not yet been selected and approved. The Chinese auction is the main fund raiser for our council, and without holding the auction, we may not be able to remain financially solvent. If you have a garage that we can use (rent) during this time frame please contact me, at your earliest convenience.

On September 29, Good Shepherd Church is having family day from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, all are welcomed to attend. Our council sets up a children’s game booth and assists with set up, cooking, serving, selling 50/50 raffles, and other tasks as needed. We need brothers to volunteer, please contact me if you are interested in helping out.

Fraternally, Allen D. Gordon
