Msgr. Cass Council – burned down in Long beach

Brothers All,

Several members have inquired about giving aid to Msgr Cass Council in Long Beach. Their Council burned down after electric was restored following Sandy. The building was obviously insured but all the contents were not.

These brothers became the home away from home for people that lost everything during Sandy feeding about 150 people a day and now they are in need. (They continue to help out in a tent set up in front of the burnt building.)

I had indicated that there was a County wide effort to be made & I would advise our members as info became available so here is where we stand right now:

The first fund raiser for the Msgr. Cass Council in Long Beach will be held on Jan 20 from 3 to 7 PM. It will be a spaghetti dinner at Bishop McGann Council in Bay Shore. The cost is $15.00 per person which includes beer, wine and soda. All funds raised go to the Msgr. Cass Council.

I will let you know if there are further fund raisers but if you are inclined to contribute but don’t want to attend a Fund Raiser you may send a check payable to Good Shepherd Council #8607 with a memo note that it is to be applied to a donation to Msgr. Cass Council and I will deposit the checks in our Council account and send a check to Msgr. Cass Council for the entire amount donated by Council members on March 31, 2013.

Mail Checks to:

Good Shepherd Council #8607, PO Box 601, Holbrook, NY 11741
